Dear Corso Fitness Family,

Weld County, the State of Colorado, and the CDC have removed restrictions on gyms.  The state recommends that anyone who is not vaccinated to wear a mask but all other mask or occupancy restrictions have been lifted.  As a reminder: reservations are not required and there is no limit on exercise time.  We want to focus on keeping a clean and welcoming facility to our members so guest passes will remain suspended at this time.

For those that would like to know our slowest times in the gym this will hopefully allow you to make an informed decision.

Dear Corso Fitness Family,

Weld County is moving to a “Red” status effective 11/22/20.  This affects us by reducing us to 10 people per room.  The rooms we have are:

The main gym floor (rubber floor)

The stretching/jump rope area (vinyl floor)

The studio

We currently don’t average even 6 people an hour during our “peak” times so we are not requiring anyone to book an appointment to workout.  Classes will be capped at 9 members.

Please continue to wear a mask into the gym and when exiting.  You are of course welcome to wear one while exercising.  Please do your part to keep your gym open and as safe as possible.

Dear Corso Fitness Family,

Governor Polis issued Executive Order D2020-138 requiring face masks be worn in public beginning July 17th and continuing for at least 30 days.  It appears this applies to private gyms as well however there is an exemption.

People who are exercising are exempt from wearing a mask if these conditions are met:

“Individuals performing the following activities are exempt from the requirements

of this Executive Order while the activity is being performed:  Individuals who are exercising alone or with others from the individual’s household and a face covering would interfere with the activity.”

Based on this information we are asking that members wear a mask into the gym and when exiting.  You are of course welcome to wear one while exercising.  Please do your part to keep your gym open and as safe as possible.

We are continuing our high level of cleanliness in the gym and ask you to do the same.  Please clean the equipment before and after use.  Do your best to respect each other and maintain social distancing.  You are responsible for yourself and workout at your own risk.

Dear Corso Fitness Family,

The Safer At Home order has been modified for gyms as of today.

The gym will be open to all of our members.  Based on the restrictions you are welcome to come and workout at your own pace.  Our current membership count falls within the requirement from the state so you no longer have to worry about the amount of people in the gym.  Classes will resume as normal with a cap on attendance based on spacing in the studio.

We are continuing our high level of cleanliness in the gym and ask you to do the same.  Please clean the equipment before and after use.  Do your best to respect each other and maintain social distancing.  You are responsible for yourself and workout at your own risk.

Dear Corso Fitness Family,

The Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment updated order 20-22 defining gymnasiums and extending the order through April 30th.

“The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is working to stop the spread of novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). At this time I find it necessary to implement emergency measures to close down all bars, restaurants, theaters, gymnasiums and casinos in Colorado in an effort to protect and preserve the public health. This Order, originally issued on March 16, 2020, has been amended to close nonessential personal services facilities and racetrack and off-track pari-mutuel wagering facilities, exempt institutions of higher education in the services of meals, clarify that hotel dining services are not exempted other than in room dining services, add a definition of gymnasium, and extend the Order through April 30, 2020.  “Gymnasium” means a building or room used for indoor sports or exercise, such as fitness, dance, exercise or group classes, exercise studios and centers, recreation centers, bowling alleys, pools, and other indoor athletic facilities.”

Based on this information we must close our gym and studio through April 30th, 2020.  We have done everything we can to stay open and accessible to our members up until this point but can no longer do so in good faith.  We completely understand how important fitness is to our members and we encourage everyone to start and maintain a healthy home routine until we can re-open.

We are suspending billing for the month of April since nobody will be able to access the gym.  Unless extended again we plan on resuming normal billing and normal business on May 1st at 0000 hours.  We will keep our website and social media updated with any changes but feel free to contact us with any questions.  We will still respond to phone calls and emails during this time.  We will not be idle as gym owners and plan on utilizing the “down time” to maximize the benefit to our members upon their return.

In an effort to still provide some services Melanie will be instructing classes and posting them on Facebook.  If interested, please “like” us on Facebook and follow the class schedule.  We will continue to keep the same class schedule as if everything were normal to help maintain some sense of normalcy.  These videos will not be saved past the class time so please join us live in the comfort of your own home.  Like most of you, we are trying something new and figuring out how to make the best of the situation we find ourselves in.  Thank you for your continued membership and support.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.  We hope this situation resolves quickly and everyone takes care of each other.  Please contact us with any questions.

03/16/20

Dear Corso Fitness Family,

Governor Jared Polis gave a social distancing update referencing coronavirus (COVID-19) today, 03/16/20.  During his speech about closing restaurants to dine-in he made the comment: “We’re closing large places of gathering … gyms, theatres, and casinos, where large groups can gather.”  This caused immediate concern for our members.  During the speech he does not clarify that statement any further.  Based on that statement we will stay open as we do not qualify as a place of large gatherings.

We want to remind our members that we are a small, privately owned, membership only, fitness center.  We are not open to the public and do not allow drop-ins.  One of the compliments heard most often is how low volume our gym is.  We know one of the benefits of working out in a small-town gym is often having the gym to yourself or not having to wait for any equipment.  We looked at our current usage for the last two weeks and saw that it averages about 2.5 people an hour “keying” the front entry door.  Today President Donald Trump recommended that gatherings be kept to 10 people or less.  Based on our setup, members, and current attendance rates we are remaining open.

We are making a few changes to stay in line with what the CDC and WHO recommend:

  • Classes will be capped at 9 people (10 would be the instructor)

  • We will no longer be accepting new members to prevent members from large gyms flooding our current attendance

  • Members may no longer bring a guest with them

This is a stressful time for everyone, and we want to be a resource for our community in the best way possible.  Providing a way for people to get out of the house, release some energy, live healthy, and live fit is what we intend to do.  As mentioned in our previous statement we have increased our cleaning of the gym and still have stock of cleaning supplies.  Everyone has been doing a great job of cleaning the equipment before and after.  We do not intend to close unless we run out of cleaning supplies or the current definition of large gatherings changes to include any business.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.  We hope this situation resolves quickly and everyone takes care of each other.  Please contact us with any questions.

Sincerely yours,

Melanie and Jeromy

Dear Corso Fitness Family,

We understand the growing concern surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19) across our communities and wanted to provide an update regarding the steps we are taking to keep our members safe.

Every day, as part of our regular operations, our facility is cleaned and sanitized. We provide gym wipes and hand sanitizer for our members to use in addition to the cleaning that we do daily. Recently, we've increased the frequency of cleanings, and are doing our best to keep additional supplies on hand to ensure that we can keep our standards so high.

As this situation continues to evolve, we will be monitoring it closely. We will continue to refer to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and other public health agencies to determine the safest course of action for our members safety. We are remaining open for our members and are committed to providing the safest environment we can.

It's our privilege to have you as part of our fitness family and we hope everyone stays healthy and safe.

Sincerely yours,

Melanie and Jeromy
